With an ISA-Certified arborist on staff, Grasshoppers offers a wide range of tree services, including the following:

  • Tree diagnostics, disease determination, and general health;

  • Pruning for aesthetic appearance;

  • Pruning for tree health;

  • Pruning for building safety and insurance purposes;

  • Planting and tree location.

Grasshoppers plants over 200 trees a year, and is under contract to supply and plant trees for the City of Durango under their forestry program. Grasshoppers is also a contracted tree pruner for Durango. Staff members are integral members of local Arbor Day committees and are involved in the removal and replacement if invasive alien tree species in Durango and Bayfield.

We believe in trees for more than just their good looks! Trees are a great buffer from increasing summer heat waves, provide riparian protection along stream channels, and work “tirelessly” to combat climate change by sequestering carbon and releasing oxygen.
