Founded 40 years ago by Pat O’Brien, Grasshoppers is the oldest continuously operating landscape company serving SW Colorado. With offices in Bayfield and Durango, and projects from Pagosa Springs to Cortez, Ignacio to Purgatory, Bayfield, and Durango, we have built the capacity to serve both residential and commercial clients.

Since buying the company, local businessman, coach and teacher, David McMillan has grown the company to include landscape and irrigation design services and a tree division that offers pruning and planting services, fire mitigation and brush clearing.

With existing expertise in landscape installation, lawn care and property maintenance, the expanded service repertoire allows us to be a “one stop shop” for all of your landscaping needs.

With a full-time landscape staff of 20, and a fleet of landscape equipment, trucks, and trailers, Grasshoppers is equipped to handle projects big and small.

Our field crews, led by Superintendent Rockey Cundiff have many years experience operating equipment in the landscapes of the SW.
